Detached Series
The work is a reaction to the weather patterns, and the relationship between our shoreline condition and the surf community. Having moved to New Zealand “for the surf”, my living condition had become devoted to two processes: a surfer anticipating weather changes, and a designer reacting to city lifestyles. To create this work, I combined the components of the day to day swell-map and my ideal map condition, into a tracing map through the developments of my hand gesture and small brush drawing.
