Parallel Space

An interactive artwork that works with the concept of how our minds fill spaces. The passer-by moves in front of the Digital Art Live screen, and this changes the perspective and light of the virtual space on the screen. Drawing on Doug Wheeler's ideas of optical and acoustical sensation, the work is an experience of spatial and chromatic intensity. Through the lens of viewing and interacting with the work, public space become temporarily private, thus giving audience access to power and the means to change the information of the space by moving their body position. The work was exhibited in galleries around Auckland, as part of Digital Art Live emerging artist programme.
